The candidate will join the Process Computer Control organization of the Esso Refinery at Augusta within the role of Control System Engineer. He/she will work in a small team of System Engineers to support the site Process Control Domain which is made up of Supervisory and Optimization systems/platforms. His/her role will cover system development, installation, commissioning and maintenance activities. He/she will work together with site Application Engineers, colleagues in other disciplines, specialists located in central support organizations abroad and System Engineers at other ExxonMobil sites in other countries. A positive attitude towards teamwork and diversity is a requirement due to international environment in which he/she will work. System Engineers attend advanced training courses by Vendors and ExxonMobil abroad to develop/maintain the high level of expertise required by their role in the organization.
Key responsibilities:
- MS domains administration.
- Install, configure and support Network infrastructure and hardware/software platforms developed by Vendor and/or ExxonMobil central organizations.
- Support site organizations through initial response to systems/platform problems or outages. Support in related problem analysis and system recovery. Working together with central organization specialists when problems/fixing need to be escalated or require more advanced skills.
- Support domain equipment reliability and security through execution of backup & recovery strategies, systems health and performance monitoring, security access account management, anti-virus updating, software patching management, etc. in line with ExxonMobil central organization guidelines/recommendations.
- Support domain equipment sustainment by assisting in life cycle management activities such as software updates and upgrades, hardware refresh, etc., patching and hot-fix management.
- Supporting project execution through all development phases from design to implementation and start-up.
- Support the site and respond to cyber-security events.
- Issuing/updating documentation on the supported installations to be used inside the organization.
- Train other site organizations personnel on platforms in use in the Process Control domain.
Requirements:
- Master engineering degree preferably in computing area (Informatica, Electronic Engineering or similar) or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in domain of ProcesTs Control.
- Extensive technical knowledge of systems communication Protocols (like Modbus and OPC)
- Extensive technical knowledge of Virtual Machine platforms
- Technical knowledge of CISCO equipment (switches/routers and AFA firewalls) and Tofino Firewalls.
- Extensive technical knowledge of Honeywell DCSs (TDC2000 and TDC3000 and Experion) is preferred.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
